Block Kids Competition
Block Kids Building Competition is a National building competition that is sponsored on the local level by The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) chapters and other organizations. NAWIC DC is sponsoring a local competition at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD on January 26th, 2019.
The award-winning program introduces students to the construction industry in an effort to create awareness and promote careers in the industry.
All materials are provided for each student. Students work independently in each grade group. After the projects are built, they discuss their project with judges, who are local construction business people, owners, and architects.
There are winners for each grade and overall winners. The first place overall winner also goes on to have their project sent in to compete in the regional Block Kids Competition.
